When you arrive at my Maple Ridge studio, everything will be ready for you. Your custom set will be designed based on the theme we planned together, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy the experience.

Depending on your package, we will begin with a few family and individual photos. This gives us a chance to capture some beautiful, connection-filled images before moving into the messy part.

Then we move into the cake smash.

Every baby reacts a little differently. Some are instantly curious, while others take their time warming up. I always follow your baby’s lead and keep things playful and relaxed.

If your little one isn’t sure about the cake, I gently guide them with simple tricks like giving them something to explore or incorporating a familiar snack. There’s no pressure for them to “perform.” Some of the best images come from their natural reactions.

Some sessions also include a warm bubble bath in a little tub. It helps with cleanup and creates some of the sweetest, most loved images from the entire session.

You don’t need to worry about the mess or the logistics. I take care of everything so you can focus on your baby and enjoy the experience.

You’re welcome to bring a second outfit for family photos. I also have bags ready for messy clothes so cleanup is easy when you head home.

How messy does it get?

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful family at Pitt Lake, a stunning spot nestled off the Pitt River Dyke in Pitt Meadows, BC. The mountains as the backdrop of the photoshoot is breathtaking. This is one of my favourite locations, especially at golden hour or on an overcast day.

The Family

The wonderful family for this shoot included Mom, Dad, their adorable 8 month old son, and their other furry family member Jake the family dog. Mom and Dad focused on playful moments with their son, while Jake explored the area around us. The family's love and connection was evident in every shot, creating timeless memories that they'll cherish forever.

The Location: Pitt Lake

Pitt Lake offering a variety of scenic views that are perfect for photography. The combination of body of water and towering mountains creates an enchanting atmosphere. Depending on the time of year, you can go down the dyke into an open field, which is perfect at golden hour. On the day of our shoot, the weather was overcast, which is perfect to be able to showcase every angle of the landscape. This natural soft light highlighted the family's love and togetherness.
